Born and raised in New York City, Cayla Bamberger covers education, child welfare and juvenile justice for The New York Daily News.

She previously reported on education for The New York Post, Hearst Connecticut newspapers, and nonprofit newsroom The Hechinger Report.

Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Education WeekMindShift KQED and Paste Magazine, among others. She is also interested in books, music and film & TV; the media industry; food and restaurants; and transportation and cities.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Emory University, with majors in English and Film & Media Studies, and her master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism, where she covered New York City public schools.
